War is over! Thanks to all!!

It was yet another challenge for us during the March holidays. The last program ended yesterday 6.30pm at Kranji SS. We have people serving for the first time, people going through A & E, people who were with us for a long time. What touches me was the way we care and share for each other. Under the umbrella of CCI, we are people who have an unique way to bring people together. Once again, teachers were impressed by our energy and well organized itinerary. People who fall sick during the war must have work extra hard. Applause for them!!

Looking ahead, next week will be term 2 in the school schedule. We have a couple of weekly ongoing programs and of course, project basis like Keming PS which was posted by Angie the other time. (Not confirm yet due to the scheduling of dates by the school). We still have programs during the off peak period so please join us to facilitate in any programs posted.

The next war will be starting in mid May to week 3 of June. With all the learning pointers we've shared during our debrief session, we want to do a better job the next time round. We may be doing this for many times, our kids under our charge are there for the first. time. Hence, everytime we engage with students we must make a difference in their lives.

Reflections on DHS Camp

Hi Cheerios,

As suggested by our dear old man, Randall, that we should try to update our programs to all our Cheerios, here's something I've gathered during our recent conducted program, Leadership Pro for Dunman High School.

Our Cheerios were once again our intangible assets. Great enthusiasm displayed and super high energy level. The whole camp was running amok. This is the first time I witnessed class committee members having so much fun in a camp like this.

A new word I've learnt from this camp "facil". It's their short form for facilitators. It sounded nice when you heard the actual pronounciation. I also learnt that things can be done nicely with convictions. Some of the minor appointed class leaders were tasked to carried out night activities at around 4 plus for the cohort of 150++ students. They got things done quickly from planning the briefing and finally the execution. Everything was done in a super rush situation. The total time taken from brainstorming of ideas to the end of the program was only 5hours, inclusive of dinner time. If these kids can do it within such a short timeframe, I believe we can do better. They commented that this mode of teaching leadership is a great idea. It smoothens our heart.

The teacher sms me today, "Hi Justin.. Thanks for coming up with such a wonderful prog for e kids... Definitely enjoy working with ur team... See u around!"

Yet another job well done!

Cheers,

Justin Koh
General Manager
