Joy from Googling - Testimonial by HCI Student
My secondary school teacher once put it, "The Internet will, in due time, prove to not only have the ability to serve as a portal to inform us, but also to become the sources of joy, depression, and may also become a spiritual home for all of us living on Earth!"
Being said back in the early 1990s, it is only natural that being a language teacher, she made an interesting assumption that the internet is "limitless" and that God (defined here as whoever you think is the supreme being ruling over the universe and beyond) can have a website and tell us about things from heaven (similarly defined by you the reader). Since the unfortunate earthquake in Taiwan late last year happened painfully taught us that the internet works by cables, we now know that this is not possible. However, what I have to agree with my teacher, is that today, the internet has indeed proven to be a source of joy.
As I was Googling (read web-searching) through the net for CCI's web presence, I came across several websites of participants of our activities writing entries in their blogs on how they took part in our activities and enjoyed themselves, or even made friends. One particularly interesting website, was this blog entry by a student from HCI, after we conducted CCI Challenge for them back in 2005 (look out for my name in the entry... hehe).

Seeing how he detailed every single clue and puzzle from every day, and uploaded memorable photos to illustrate his point, it filled my heart with delight reading through the entry. It once again goes to show how facilitation is always a joy, and to receive sincere recognition from a job well done, priceless.

Hey! that CCI Challenge for HCI was my very FIRST time facilitating! It was quite intimidating at first as it was an all-boys school and most are towering over me due to my lack of height. I lead the BEST Team (ok, we were 2nd BEST!)& I even remem how to pronounce Team !xo(your're suppose to make that 'tock' sound with your tongue)... oh boy it was funny... its great to read that our program ACTUALLY DID left an impact on at least 1 young man... & a very detailed account of it too! I felt assured that our participants enjoyed the journey with us despite the tiredness and the many 'sian ah!' remarks. A year & a half have passed and I have since promoted to SFA (ahaha).. well well... its also a "bittersweet reminiscence" for me.
